Some clouds do have a silver lining
Yesterday was the day that we met with Dad's surgeon. I know that we were all very anxious about the meeting because the doctor had asked Dad to bring his family with him. We waited and waited for it to be Dad's turn to go in to see the doctor. He had been held up at the hosptial in surgery. When we got into his office the doctor was just in the process of reading Dad's pathology report. He seemed to read for a long time and then he said, "Well Mr. Simpson, I have some good news for you." He finished reading the report and then told Dad that there had been NO cancer cells found in the pathology report at all. Possibly as a side effect from the chemo, it appears that the wall of Dad's bowel became weakened and it perforated. A 'sack" of infection and pus formed and has the infection grew this 'sack' became bigger and created a blockage in the bowel. Doctor Dhalla was happily surprised by this outcome as he fully expected the read that there had been a recurrance of the cancer. He explained a few more things, told Dad that since he has had one occurance of cancer that he must have regular scopes and then told him...."After getting this news I think you should go out for a real nice dinner and have a big drink"*S* Because it was so late we wanted something rather quickly, so we had pizza to celebrate! You could see that a huge weight had been lifted from Dad's shoulders and I am sure that we will notice big difference in him now. I bet his appetite increases and he just continues to get stronger now that his mind is resting easier.
