Spring Break
It is spring break here this week, and it is unusual for me to be home during this time. Usually I am away with my knitting friends, but this spring break it wasn't going to work out so here I am. Gary had already booked this week off at work, and I decided that I would take it off as usual and we are painting! And painting and painting and painting!!!! The actual painting isn't so bad, but it is the prep work that really takes the time, and the unloading of the room you are working on and finding places to put the things you unload. Sunday we started on the living room and I am really happy with the way it turned out. We used mochachino for a color. Then we did the hallway the same color and it seemed to take forever! 4 doors to work around. Next we did the office in what is called elephant grass. Gary thinks it looks like the elephant ate the grass and this is what came out the other end! It is a yellow, sort of a darker yellow and really once the room was finished it looks really good. Gary now has the ceiling painted and the walls primed in our bedroom so as soon as it is dry I will start painting in there. While I am painting Gary is going to do a little bit of patching in the bathroom and then will start the kitchen ceiling. We are doing our bedroom in the elephant grass as well. The bathroom and the kitchen are going to be a color called Autumn Haze which is a light green, at least that is what it is suppose to be *S* We hope to be able to have our bedroom put somewhat back together tonight so we can sleep in there, but if we have to sleep on our mattress in the livingroom again we will.
I am going to be so happy to have this all done. While reloading the rooms after the painting I am going through everything and getting rid of the things that we really do not need - if it still has some use in it it goes in the box for the Canadian Diabetes and if it is just something that was pack ratted away it goes to the garbage. It feels so good to de-clutter and make more room!
Last night I said the Gary - boy if this was a normal spring break I bet I would have 1/2 a sock finished by now and I haven't even knit one stitch!
