One just never knows
Firstly, an update on Crystal: She is just loving her job at the Credit Union. She has really caught on quickly and a couple of the girls have expressed how disappointed they are that she still has a year of school. Gary and I have been talking to her about that and asking her exactly how she feels etc. She says that she does want to finish her course but it is sounding like she might consider doing it evening or correspondence. Time will tell I suppose.
Secondly, an update on Ryan: They are all settled into their new apartment now. Sounds like they are liking it except finding that it is hot. They are checking to see if there is a way to put a window a/c in and if so we will take out one of ours when we go in the summer. We are so looking forward to heading out there this summer! As nice as it would be if Crystal could come with us, it will be nice to just be Gary and myself.
Gary continues to be very busy at work. They are still short one person so makes it hard to do any catching up. Daycare is keeping me busy as usual. Kenzie's days are starting to tick down now. We will certainly miss her when she moves. I have filled her spot with a little 2 yr old boy. Kenzie's mom told them about me and they took the spot over the phone.
We have been getting some of that summer hot weather and we sure are enjoying our ductless a/c! We are very happy with the way it is working and feel it was well worth the money.
Now for the 'one just never knows part':
My dad's brother, Uncle Arnold, has been having some health problems over the last few years but has never been able to get any real definitive answers. Last week he woke up not feeling all that well and wasn't breathing well so his wife took him to emergency against his wishes (MEN!). They admitted him and arranged for him to go by ambulance into Winnipeg for an angiogram. The news they got in there was not good. The angiogram showed that Uncle Arnold's heart was diseased so they could not do a stent nor bypass surgery. His heart is functioning at about 7%. They will be seeing a doctor in Brandon to discuss what drugs he can take etc. The prognosis is not all that great at all.
My dad phoned me to tell me Uncle Arnold's news and naturally he was upset. Dad has had what the doctors have called a Fibrolating Heart. Sometimes upon exersion his heart would start to race and he would have to sit and rest and it would stop. Uncle Arnold had something similar. While Dad and I were talking he said how this really makes a guy think. I tried to give him examples of how him and his brother's symptoms were different but he wasn't really listening to them. Last night just after daycare kids left I got a collect phone call from him and he said he was in the hospital. He had been out golfing with the guys and his heart started doing this fibrolating thing and it didn't really seem to settle down when they went in for coffee. He went home and then decided that he should go into see the doctor. The doctor sent him for tests and admitted him for observation, hooked him up to the heart monitor for the night and will run more tests today. The doctor now says that maybe it is angina. Persoanlly I feel that he has been sitting at home alone stewing about his brother, figuring he has the same problems and has put himself under so much stress that he brought this on himself. I may be wrong and there really may be a medical problem but it really does make me wonder. I am not sure how long they will keep him in the hospital, but would assume that it will depend what they find in these tests.
