Canada Weekend
Our Canada Day weekend got off to quite a start. We had a bad storm come up around 3 p.m. with high winds, heavy rain, hail, and several tornados spotted around Brandon. Yikes! But thankfully it was short lived and we were able to get away from the city as scheduled. It started raining just as we got to the campground and drizzled away for awhile but didn't really amount to anything. It didn't stop us from having a campfire. *S*
Saturday we had a Canada celebration at Dad's house. We deep fried a turkey for the first time! Everyone was surprised at how well it really turned out. Approx 13 lb turkey took 1 hour to cook. We went to the campfire after we got back to the campground to help celebrate Rick & Judy's anniversary.
Sunday was a beautiful day until we had a storm blow through about supper time. It dumped on us and then moved on so that was good. We hosted the fire that night and had a lot show up which was great!
Monday we just hung around the camper, did up a few things and relaxed. Dad came out in the afternoon to visit and he stayed and had hamburgers with us.
I didn't get hardly any knitting done the whole weekend, other than casting on my Maple Leaf Socks on July 1st.
