Where does the time go?
Everytime I post I promise myself that next time so many days won't go between posts but they seem to slip by so quickly.
On the knitting front I am trying to make a big dent in my Christmas knitting and I am feeling a bit better about it. One of my cousins is going through a really difficult time right now. I emailed her mom to see if a shawl or a wrap might be her kind of thing. Her mom told me she would love a 'softee', so I put Christmas knitting on hold and and working on a batwing shawl for her. I am thinking that I should be able to finish it tonight while watching tv. Gary was with me when I was looking at for the yarn for it and I would pick one and ask him, what do you think of this. His reply was nope. We did this a few times and then he picked a color. He said if someone is feeling down they need bright cheery colors to pick them up, so that is what I bought. I will put a pic up of it before I mail it off to her. Slowly but surely I am working away on the 'colorful blanket' for Rawley. When he first picked out the colors I really wondered, how will I ever put these colors together, but now that it is started I am thinking that that 4 year old has better color sense than me. LOL
Crystal is counting down the days till she writes her mid term exams. She has a couple of pretty heavy courses so hopefully she does well on them. She has started going out with a young gentleman*S*. Her friend Andrea goes with Dustin, Dustin has a cousin Al, Andrea and Dustin had a hand in introducing Crystal and Al. They haven't been going out for very long at all. We did get to meet him last night when he picked her up and he does seem like a very nice guy. Crystal has finished her job at the Sub Shop and is happy with her decision. She is working some Saturday's at the Credit Union and really is enjoying that.
A new requirement for daycare is that all providers have to have a certain number of hours of class. We can take our courses by distant ed which is good since none of us could really make the committment to be in the school every day. I have choses the course Curriculum Planning and so far it is dealing with Child Developement. At first I was dreading the reading that I have to do, but this afternoon I sat down and started reading it and it is rather interesting. As I read along I can picture different kids I either am caring for now, or have cared for in the past. I also think...so that is why that child acts/acted that way. *S*
Gary is working overtime once again getting ready for stock take time. He sure is not putting in the long hours that he has done other years. I think he has finally decided that, if no one else is going to or has to stay then why should he spend all those hours there. Yes he does get paid for them, or gets time off in lieu but still it does get tiring for him being there all those extra hours a day. The last weekend in October is the actual stock take. I think I start going in next week for a couple of hours in the evening and then working Friday night, Saturday and Sunday if needed. They pay not bad and I get to sock that money away to buy yarn etc when we have get togethers. Gary takes some of his in money and the rest in time, he uses the time to chauffeur me to the get togethers if they are within chauffeuring distance *S* Think I will keep him. *S*
On the weather front we have had our first snow fall. Our ground was white for about a day and a half. Since that time our temps have been on the chilly side with a couple of days that never made it above 0, today being one of them. I can sure tell the difference in the kids when they don't get to spend hours outside buring off the energy. We are usually out for 30 mins before everyone is chilly and wants to go in.
I guess that is about all the catch up news for now. I am really going to try to keep more up to date from now on. *S*
